The excretion of the Parisian life was set from the first story, from the departure of shopkeepers out of town once a year – to eat on the grass, to hear the nightingale, to copulate at the call of the flesh. And that’s all. If a natural feeling flashes in these stories, then as a green summer grass for citizens – half a day, and enough. But these half a day can become a revelation – albeit terrible – for which a person is alive.
For the worst of all is not deadly jealousy, and not even a shocking discovery that the next keeper turned out to be your daughter from a long -term connection. In total, the words of the curious provincial: “I wanted to know the vice … nothing interesting.” To this abyss – “nothing interesting” – leads the reader Maupassant. Will he get the courage to look?
