Mikhail Yuryevich Lermontov is the younger contemporary of Pushkin and the second size after him in Russian poetry of the 19th century. In 2014, the 200th anniversary is celebrated since the poet’s birth. Fate was allowed to live only 26 years and only 13 years in order to go down in the history of world literature. Lermontov’s creative evolution was swift. The romantic hero of his youthful lyrics challenges the whole world: “I was born so that the whole world is the viewer of the celebration or my death …” In later poems, the poet speaks on behalf of the generation. Having overcome the romantic rhetoric, summarizing the most important artistic discoveries of his time, Lermontov essentially summed up the “golden eyelid” of Russian poetry and discovered new horizons for it.
The real edition included poems of 1828-1841, poems, the play “Masquerade”, as well as the novel “Hero of our time”, which has become a new page in the history of domestic prose.
