Collection of letters. Volume VIII: Ignatius Holy

In our collection, for the first time after 1875, all the letters of St. Ignatius to the abbot Anthony (Bochkov) and the response of the hegumen, representing undoubted spiritual and historical interest, were printed. They are published according to a book that has long become a bibliographic rarity: “Letters of Ignatius Bryanchaninov, Bishop of Caucasus and Black Sea, to Anthony Bochkov, Igumen Cheremenet. M., 1875”. The publication contains 756 letters of St. Ignatius. The collection has two extensive sections. The first of them is “letters to clergy and monks.” It is systematized according to the hierarchical principle. The second section – “Letters to the laity” has three parts: “Letters to relatives and friends”, “Letters to different persons” and “Letters to unrecognized persons”. In both sections, addressees and internal address chronology are clarified. When reprinting, the most complete letters options were used.
