The author considers the historical transformations of the main plot scheme of comedy – from antiquity to the beginning of the 20th century. The work of those authors and those national comediaographic schools that made their own contribution to the typology of comedic conflicts and thereby contributed to the enrichment of the genre repertoire are analyzed. Significant figures and stages along this path are comediographers of Renaissance Italy, Shakespeare, Spanish “Golden Age” with Lope de Vega and Calderon, Moliere and French classics, Goldoni, Congrive, English comedy of restoration, Russian comedy of the 19th century. The dramaturgy of the show and Chekhov summarizes the historical being of comedy, subjecting its structural foundations of total deconstruction.
