For the first time in world science, a detailed comparison of the theological doctrines of two great contemporaries is held in world science: the Rhine mysticism John Eckhart from Hochheim and the Athos Isihast Grigory Palamas. A comparison is carried out on a number of key positions, which include the exercises of God and divine emanations, about ecstasy and language (including the name of God), as well as the methodology of God’s knowledge. In a book written in a long -term discussion, which unfolded in 2009 on the official website of the Russian Orthodox Church, a project that was once conceived by the Russian theological V.N. Lossky is being implemented. The application publishes a complete Russian translation of the stenographic records of five disputes conducted by Eckhart at the University of Paris in 1302-1313. In the order of updating the Ekhart doctrine in the introduction to the disputes, an attempt was made to build hermeneutics on the basis of the Neoplaton theory of the symbol.
