Born among the dead: Irina Kirk

Russian emigrant literature is a huge wealth of Russian culture of the 20th century. Many bright Russian books have already returned to the country, first published abroad.
But Russian writers, divorced from their homeland, sometimes found their reader in the country of exile. And then these were Russian books written in a foreign language – books belonging to two literature.
This is the novel of the Russian American writer Irina Kerk (Kunina).
The author managed to embody his personal dramatic experience in the emigrant life in Shanghai in the 1930-1940s, where the catastrophic shifts of the world history of the era of revolutions and global wars with a fatal way determine the consciousness, passions and, as a result, the fate of the heroes of the novel.
