Stefani Korinna Biy (she signed her books by S. Korinna Biyi) – a classic of Swiss franco -speaking literature of the twentieth century, the author of many poetic collections and prose works – novels, short stories, stories.
Corinna Biy is a genuine and widely recognized master of “small forms”. She sings in her stories love, often bitter, tragic, the joys and troubles of her modest hardworking fellow countrymen, whose life she knew perfectly and described talentedly, as a keen observer and subtle psychologist. Some of these works, without exaggeration, reach the heights of the Maupassan “peasant” stories. But Corinna Biye also became famous as the author of the fantastic stories in the spirit of Baroque – those that make up her collection “Oval Salon” are especially good. They are distinguished by an impeccable sense of style, an exquisite, a little archaic language and a wonderful flight of the author’s imagination, which carries the reader into the mysterious world of the unknown.
