The Irish historian, Byzantinist, professor of recent history at Cambridge University John Bagnell Burei devoted his work to the history of the gradual decline and the collapse of the Roman Empire, closely barbarians. The author clearly showed that the Roman army was not a victim of a strong external enemy, but turned out to be cornounted from the inside, first with a set of foreign recruits, and then with its own command, whose higher posts occupied barbarians, whose numerous tribes poured into the European continent through Italy.
