A. Uspensky, who tragically died in the blockade, is a typical representative of the “Leningrad school” of pre -war art. The exquisite colorist, one of the best satirical drawers, a mentor of painters-nurses at the Institute of the Peoples of the North (1933-1941), the first designer of Soviet art glass, an educated artist, until recently was unknown to the wide circles of lovers. The Assumption meeting is almost completely stored in the Vologda Museum, it gives an idea of the level and quality of artistic heritage.
