If old -native painting is widely known in our country, this cannot be said about architecture. On an extensive historical and cultural background, temples and various original local types of civil buildings are described: shopping rows and beffrois, the building of urban weights, town halls, guild houses, etc. This publication will be useful to students in the plan of in -depth study of the history of architecture. It may be of value to art historians and all those interested in the artistic heritage of the Netherlands.
