The autobiographical book, written by Chris Kail in the cooperation of Scott Mcueen and Jim Defelis, was published in the USA in 2012, and on February 2, 2013, its author tragically died by the hands of a mentally ill veteran of Eddie R. Ruta, a former naval infantryman who suffered from post -traumatic syndrome.
Chris (Christopher Scott) Kyle served from 1999 to 2009 in the ranks of Seal – the elite formation of “sea cats” – the special forces of the American Navy. Having made four fighting business trips to Iraq, he became the most effective sniper in the history of the United States. Reliably destroyed 160 Iraqi militants, or 255 according to other sources.
Kyle’s successes made him a popular person not only among compatriots, but even among enemies: the Islamists gave him the nickname “al-Shaytan Ramadi” (“Devil Ramadi”) and appointed a reward for his head.
