In the USSR he took part in the first Samizdat magazines and almanacs. He wrote popular science books, but to a greater extent showed himself as a desperation poet. In 1987, Guberman emigrated from the USSR, since 1988 he has been living in Jerusalem.
Igor Guberman’s poetry is a unique phenomenon. In his capacious quatrains, which he himself calls “Gariki”, the laconicism of the Japanese tanks, the tragically cheerful over -the -grade of the Oberiuts and the aphoristic juiciness of the Russian ditties are amazingly combined.
