Many books have been written about the last war of the USSR, but before this publication, there was no work in the public domain that summarize the combat experience gained during the Afghan conflict.
Military operations and special forces raids, ambush on enemy caravans and combing the area, ensuring the passage of columns and air support – in this book all aspects of the combat work of the Soviet troops in Afghanistan are considered. Particular attention was paid to the combat use of aviation in the mountain warfare, armored vehicles, artillery, airborne and engineering troops, as well as the organization of intelligence and combat security.
This is the 5th edition of the encyclopedia of combat operations of the Afghan war from the teacher of the history of the military art of the Academy named after Frunze.
