Nikolai Gerasimovich Kuznetsov – admiral of the fleet of the Soviet Union, one of those to whom we owe a victory in the Great Patriotic War. In 1939, at the personal instructions of Stalin, 34-year-old Kuznetsov was appointed People’s Commissar of the Navy of the USSR. During the war, he entered the headquarters of the Supreme High Command, promptly and vigorously led the fleet. For his outstanding merits N.G. Kuznetsov received the highest military rank in the Navy and became the hero of the Soviet Union.
