The author of this collection of sermons Archimandrite Alexander (Vasiliev Vladimir Vasilievich) was born in the Pskov region on August 4, 1927 in the village of Orekhova Gora of the Palkinsky district, in a pious Christian family. During the collectivization, their family tried to forcefully write down on the collective farm, but the parents of his father Alexander resolutely opposed this, since the entry into the collective farm obliged to abandon faith in God and the church. For the loyalty of the Church, they were in every possible way oppressed to the godless power, but retained faith and raised their children in the spirit of true piety and persistent standing for the right to live according to the commandments of Christ.
