About Revolution: Hannah Arendt

The war and revolutions to this day determine the appearance of the twentieth century, as if these events have not slowed to fulfill the famous Leninist prediction that the 20th century is the century of “wars and revolutions”. In the political situation of our time, fraught with the threat of total extermination in the war and at the same time not allowing the hope of the emancipation of mankind through the revolution – and still there is no important issue that, from the very beginning of our history, determined the main content of politics: freedom or tyranny? To the extent that violence prevails in wars and revolutions, in the strict sense of the word they find themselves outside of politics, and this happens even despite the role that they played throughout the history of mankind.
