Bulat Okudzhava – poet, prose writer, playwright. Legend. In the late eighties, he will say: “I want to resurrect my loved ones …” – this will become the beginning of work on the novel “The abolished theater” (1989-1993). It sounds a “mournful and non -staffed melody of loss” – the same as in verses and in autobiographical prose: “I drove to my mother – I died, / I wanted to my father – but he was shot …”
The novel was awarded the Buker Prize.
