The collection of articles is dedicated to the military experience of an ordinary person: a warrior, partisan, doctor, disabled, refugee, civilian in general, who endured the main burden of a large war. The focus of attention is his emotional reactions – fear, hatred, experience of hunger, injury pain, physical and sexual violence, their reflection in folklore, in individual and collective memory, taking into account the characteristics of the gender, religion and ethnicity. The publication offers the reader a new multifaceted picture of Russian military experience in the front of the front, rear, occupation and the Leningrad blockade.
