For the first time, Vladimir Orlov’s novel “Altist Danilov” was published in 1980 in the New World magazine. The magazine publication intertwined, the texts propagated on a photocopy and sold at speculative prices, and it was impossible to get a book published in the Soviet Writer publishing house. In the press there were hot discussions. In creative houses and clubs, meetings with a writer were held at which the best altists of the country Vladimir Grot, Mikhail Tolpygoy performed the music sounding in the novel, and the painters were Tatyana Nazarenko, Natalya Nesterova, Max Birshtein, Alexander Sitnikov and others arranged exhibitions on the heroes of the novel at these meetings. During this time, the novel was published in France, the USA, Germany, Japan and in many other countries. And in December 2012, the premiere of the opera of the same name at the Chamber Music Theater named after B.A. Pokrovsky and play on radio culture.
