Igor Mironovich Guberman (07/07/1936) is a Russian writer, a poet who gained wide fame thanks to his aphoristic and satirical quatrains, “Gariki”, many of whom became an integral part of the Soviet folklore. In the USSR he took part in the first Samizdat magazines and almanacs. He wrote popular science books, but to a greater extent showed himself as a desperation poet. In 1979 he was sentenced to five years in prison. He got to the camp where he kept diaries. During the link, on their basis he wrote the book “Walks around the Barack”.
In 1987, Guberman emigrated from the USSR, since 1988 he has been living in Jerusalem.
Igor Guberman’s poetry is a unique phenomenon. In his capacious quatrains, which he himself calls “Gariki”, the laconicism of the Japanese tanks, the tragically cheerful over -the -grade of the Oberiuts and the aphoristic juiciness of the Russian ditties are amazingly combined.
