Nikolai Pavlovich Zadornov is a famous Russian writer, Honored Culture Worker of the Latvian SSR (1969). His pen belongs to two large cycles of works on the development of Siberia and the Far East by Russian pioneers in the 19th century.
The novel “Amur-Batyushka” talks about the past of the Amur Region, about the difficult conditions of the life of peasant peasants in the 60s and 70s of the XIX century, about the development of the wild nature of the region and, of course, about friendship with local peoples, without which it would be impossible to survive in a new place.
In 1952, the novel was awarded the USSR State Prize.
