Alexander Ivanovich Kuprin is one of the brightest Russian prose writers. His first works appeared at the turn of the XIX-XX centuries and immediately became a noticeable phenomenon in the literature. After the revolution, Kuprin collaborated with Gorky in the recently organized publishing house “World Literature”, but soon, not accepting change, having survived the defeat and flight with the Yudenich army, he left Russia. He experienced emigration as a personal tragedy and, shortly before his death, returned to his homeland. This book includes Kuprin’s stories, each of which can be called a hymn of love. But in love …“ Kuprin’s plots formed the basis of the most famous films “Pomegranate Bracelet” (1964) with Ariada Shengila, Oleg Basilashvili and Vladislav Strjelchik, “Olesya” (1971), where he played the main role. The inimitable Lyudmila Chursina, and foreign cinema Bestseller “Sorcerer” (1956) with brilliant Marina Vladi.
