The novel of the Buryat writer Alexei Gatapov describes the adolescence of Genghis Khan – the great commander and state builder of Mongolia of the XII -XIII centuries. The first and second books of the novel reflects the important period of the formation of a young hero – from 9 to 11 years. These are the years of need and deprivation, hunger and deadly dangers, when, in conditions of fierce enmity between the clans of the Mongols, the character of a powerful warrior and ruler was picked up.
