The book of the modern author V. Pronin is devoted to one of the key events described in the Old Testament – the life and rule of King Saul. The unification of the Israeli state, endless wars with neighbors, the struggle against those in power, as well as clashes of secular and religious authorities are associated with his name. King Saul himself, who came from ordinary farmers, being in power, gradually becomes a rather powerful and independent ruler who does not want to reckon with anyone.
This novel can be attributed to historical works. Despite the fact that the plot is borrowed from the Old Testament, only the plot unites it with the biblical history. The novel emphasizes real events, and not on supernatural phenomena.
