Year of Russian Glory: Lada Mitroshenkov

The book talks about the events of the Patriotic War of 1812, about the battles, actions of the army partisan detachments and peasant detachments of self -defense, as well as how they perceived the war in the province and capitals, in the army and in deep rear. The author’s narrative includes fragments of literary works of writers and poets of the first half of the 19th – early 20th centuries. Many of them were not published after 1912, when the public interest in the events of that era was especially great.
In anticipation of the 200th anniversary of the victory of Russia in the war with Napoleon, it is interesting to recall both historical facts and how they were interpreted in literature. For the convenience of readers of all ages who want to learn more about the realities of those memorable times, detailed substitutions have been compiled to the texts and a dictionary of obsolete words and military-historical terms and brief information about the authors of the used literary works are made.
