Tatyana Lvovna Shchepkina-Kupernik, great-granddaughter of the great Russian actor Mikhail Shchepkina and the daughter of a prominent Kyiv lawyer Leo Curovnik, was associated with the Moscow artistic environment from an early age, was friends with A.P. Chekhov, M.N. Ermolova.
The writer, the author of poetic collections, plays, stories and stories, Schepkina-Curi is known primarily by the classic translations of dramaturgy E. Rostan, W. Shakespeare, Lope de Vega, Moliere, K. Goldoni, R.B. Sheridana.
A picture of the literary and theatrical life of Moscow at the end of the XIX – the first quarter of the XX century. The “Days of my life” (1928) and “Theater in my life” (1948) are vividly captured in her memoirs.
