This book continues the series “Great Travels” and presents the results of the expeditions of two outstanding Russian travelers – Grigory Nikolayevich Potanin (1835-1920) and his wife and associate – Alexandra Viktanovna Potanina. (1843-1893). G. E. Potanin is an encyclopedist scientist, a multifaceted person, a person of a bright fate. At the age of eight years, he firmly decided to become a traveler and did not turn off this road a single step. Potanin went to his first expedition at 28, and he gathered the latter when he was 64 years old. In almost all famous expeditions, he was accompanied by his wife, but not just as a life partner, but as an independent researcher. She became the first woman accepted in the member of the famous Russian Geographical Society.
