Georgy Vladimirovich Vernadsky (1887-1973) is a professor, an outstanding Russian historian who spent most of his life in exile. “The Subject of Russian History” is a correct and clear description of the history of Russia from ancient times until 1917. The process of forming the Russian Empire in the endless expanses of Eurasia is represented absolutely logical from the point of view of geographical, ethnocultural and geopolitical prerequisites. The author shows how, for many centuries and at the cost of the greatest stress of forces, the Russian people reached the state unification of huge territories from the Baltic to the Pacific and the rally of many tribes and peoples into a single Russian state. The book was first published in 1927 in Prague in Russian.
