This work is devoted to the problem of the formation of the sociocultural orientation of communication of younger students with mental retardation. The work defines the features and “models” of collective and diadal communication of younger schoolchildren with a delay in mental development in artistic activity and presented a project of correctional and developing work using arttechnologies to overcome immaturity of communicative function. Data on the compensatory possibilities of overcoming the underdevelopment of the collective and diadal form of communication of such children after correctional and developing work by arttechnology.
