England, 1842. The Agnes orphan, until adulthood, has to live in the house of Uncle Pastor. Agnes has a dangerous gift: she knows how to talk with ghosts. But Pastor has his own secret, more serious than Agnes. No wonder the inhabitants of these places are afraid of fairies – creatures, whom they call “neighbors from the hills.” And for a reason, the local men have not yet forgotten the skills of protection from evil spirits. Agnes will have to use his fatal abilities to protect those whom she considers her friends. But in order to save her loved one, she has to resist not ghosts, but a person who is more cruel and more dangerous than any native of the other world …
