The book is dedicated to the representative of the old noble family of the Vorontsovs. It traces the military and diplomatic activity of Count S.r. Vorontsov, who made an invaluable contribution to the development of Russian -English relations at the end of the XVIII – first quarter of the XIX century. For S.R. Vorontsova honor and good name were more expensive than life, more expensive than all material goods. He conveyed these principles to his son – Field Marshal, the brightest Prince M.S. Vorontsov. On the basis of previously not published archival materials, the book provides interesting and low-bound facts from the history of Russian-British political, economic and cultural ties.
